HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOLLY (Cheryl)

Why I love Cheryl . . .

I love how serious she takes parenting. She is such a consistent and attentive parent. She takes time every day to play with the kids on a truly meaningful level. She is concerned for their development, health and good manners. She makes sure they have healthy, positive activities to do everyday (all day). She is a great parent and I can't imagine how the boys' energy would manifest if it weren't so deftly channeled.

I love how much she enjoys being outside. She is not a homebody; true to the namesake of her blog she is always in PERPETUAL MOTION. Really always on the go - and yet our house is always in tip-top shape. I don't know how she does it. When I am with the kids it takes all of my energy just to make sure we are getting to the right places at the right times and all remaining relatively safe from harm. Forget about having time to be cleaning things up as I go! And yet somehow, without fail, she gets it all done and more.

I love that she is my wife! I couldn't ask for better . . . in every way.

I love that she enjoys eating good food. Her only regret (as far as I know) from this birthday is that she couldn't go to Country Rose Tea Room with her Mom and Sisters for lunch. As you probably know, Cheryl loves eating at her favorite places. Her trips back to B-Town often include scheduling her days around getting her favorite fills in. This goes with trips back to SLO, Reno, Provo and pretty much anywhere else that she has a favorite place to eat.

I love how passionate she is. If Cheryl likes something, you know it. She is a natural born salesperson - but not in a pushy way. Well, not if you realize that she has a strong opinion and when she finds a good thing "everyone has to try it."

I love that she doesn't gossip about others. She is very accepting and truly a great friend.

I love how authentic she is. Don't waste your time trying to look for hidden meanings or underlying interests. If Cheryl sits down with you and visits until 1 am, asking you question after question - it is because she is just interested in you. But here's the thing, she is interested in everybody. She loves finding out about people and as she learns about them, she invariably learns things from them. I wish I had her social savvyness.

I love how Cheryl . . . (see comments)

Happy Birthday! I love your zest for life and desire to help people in any way you can. I have benefited from long talks and girl clothes (when you don't even have a girl!). Thank you for all your reaching out and have a great birthday!

Oh Cheryl,

Did I ever let you know how very much I appreciated the correspondence, care, and concern you gave to me while I was abroad? To read that this is the way you are with everyone is simply fantastic. I hope your joy continues to blossom, and that your blessings flourish. I wish you and your family the best in the day of celebration of you.

Lolly,

Sandee and the kids are on the road travling to the beach for the week. I am sure that they would have loved to wish you a happy b-day too. Since they are absent I guess the full responsibility falls on me. I am secretly glad because I dont think any one could have wished you a proper happy b-day in my place. I coulndt have asked for a better little sister. You and your husband are some of my best friends in this entire world. I am greatful that my little nephews have such a great Mother to look up to. I am tickled pink that Micah, some how, found his equal in the game of life. Keep doing what you are doing because it is always entertaining for us outsiders to watch. Your gifts include, pateince, kindness, caring, honesty, love, empathy, spirituality, and many many others. Just so you know.... Sandee loves you so much. She is always talking about how much she thinks about you. It usualy has something to do with your ability to manage life with its unexpected and expected bends and turns. Thanks for everything your life adds to ours every day. We Love You Lolly!!!

Some reasons I love Lol-bug...

Your ability to touch the lives of all people you meet. Making even people who hardly know you feel like they have a freind in you.

Your unconditional love towards friends. Accepting of pretty much anything and everything a friend can throw at you - all without judgements!

Your passion for things you love and believe in. The way you are able to hold on to something, give it your all, and share the spirit of it with others - whatever it may be.

Your quick wit and how you find humor in even the most random situations and instances - then making that humor contagious. I could write a book on the 'adventures' we've been through.

Happy Birthday - Love you!

Happy birthday, Lolly!

I love that you will soon be my sister-in-law. I love that you're always smiling. I love that you're so interested in everything around you. My favorite thing that I love about you is that you give your kids watered down juice and they don't think the "regular" stuff tastes good.

Hope you've had a wonderful day so far.

love,
Pek

I love the way she makes people feel. They can feel her love and caring and they want to be around her. She is the the best mother any little boy could want. Stern but loving and fun to play with. I am like Jaden, I would want to marry her when I grow up.

Happy Birthday Cheryl! Sorry to make your day crazy on your birthday! Hope you had a good time. You really are a great person to be around and I always come away feeling happier after spending time with you. And I seriously do not know how you manage those boys so well, but you are an incredible mother.

Happy Birthday Cheryl. Sorry we couldn't celebrate with you this year, but we did drive by the Country Rose Tea Room, wouldn't go without you, and thought of you. We had our own party in your honor and talked about when you were little. Disneyland trips, etc. You are the best step-daughter a mom could ask for. Thank you for making me feel like a welcome part of your family. Love you, Sandy

What a great tribute, and for such a great friend.
Loyal, kind and ALWAYS willing to help or just talk.
You are always in a good mood and smiling. I am seriously thinking if I have every seen you upset. Not that I can think of.
You take on things that would seem overwhelming to the average person. I will never forget seeing you march around the Kern County Fair with about 30 kids, and you seemed to be unstressed and having FUN!
You are a great listener and knowledgable on SO many subjects. I take your advice as if it were gospel.
Happy Birthday- hope you had a wonderful day. Can't wait to see you in a few weeks.

Happy Birthday Lolly!!!
I hope you have a fabulous birthday celebrating with your boys. You have been my closest friend for almost my entire life. What is it now? 25 years I think. WOW. So with that said I could go on and on, but most of all what I love about you and our friendship is that you are one of the most positive and caring people I know. With everything that you have going on in your life you have always made time for your friends. I look up to you, value your advice, think you are an awesome mom, love the fact that I have a friend that shares the same passion for food and absolutely just luv ya. I wish I could be there to celebrate your birthday, although I'm sure your awesome husband will come up with some creative way to make it a special and memorable day. Happy Birthday!!!
Love, Jenny

Happy Birthday Cheryl! Hope your day was great. I have to agree with everything everyone else has already said, especially that you are an incredible mom and so full of love and light. I will just add that I wish I had a friend exactly like you on THIS side of the country! Then my life would be complete. I miss you energy, your zest, your true interest, kindness, compassion and love for others. You have a glow that rubs off on the people around you. I could use some of that good stuff right about now. xo!

I'm a little late with my comment, sorry my increased workload means less fun computer stuff. But, I agree with those before me, Cheryl is an amazingly talented and beautiful person and I feel it an honor and a pleasure to have her as a friend!

Oh! Am I too late? Micah, you ARE the man! What a precious tribute to your amazing wife. It was perfect. and true. I must add my two cents for what it's worth. I am beyond lucky to have you for my sister. Often, I find myself forgetting that I am the BIG sister. Many times, the wisdom you show tilts the scales. I love that you care so deeply about the goings on of my life when your life is so obviously full. You are unselfish in every way and have a special way of reaching out beyond the borders of social dainties and getting to the nitty gritty. You are passionate about life and live it accordingly. I like to say that you are just a bigger version of the little girl I grew up with. I can only wish to be half what you are when I grow up! This would not be complete without mentioning as many others have, what an absolute gem you are as a mother and wife. You are treasured in return. How you find the time to fit us ALL in your life, I will never know, but hope you know much you are loved and appreciated. Happy Day, with more love than a heart can hold! Shelli

I am WAY late (Sorry I have been gone!) But I just wanted to add to everyones sentiments that Cheryl is one of those people you hope to cross paths with in your life. Her energy and her genuine caring way are just a few of the blessings/talents that Heavenly Father has given her. I like knowing that I am a better person because of her friendship with me. A true friend and a great Mom. Her life I would imagine is enriched by all of us being a part of it. Micah, you rock and are so thoughtful. Its so nice to see companions truly in sync like you guys are; your boys are lucky! Love you Cheryl!!! Love--Becky
