some firsts...
my first garden. and these were the 1st sprouts.
the boys first time in a british phone booth (in san jose).
we had a free nights stay in a fab hotel in san jose thanks to micah's trial being postponed at the last minute. since they didn't have 24 hrs. notice for cancellation, the firm got charged for the first night and we got a free room. we all enjoyed the jet tub, the boys were thrilled to have their own room and tv (too bad mom spoiled the sponge bob fest) and on saturday we all loved the discovery museum, especially this. it's a must-see if you have kids and are ever in the area.
asher's first steps caught in picture. don't let him fool you though, crawling is still his primary mode of transportation. he's working on another tooth (#5 on the bottom).
and this is lizzie. she was our 1st pet (besides our sea monkies) for a day. jaden caught her at school, brought her home on the bus (in a critter keeper) and then let her go in our back yard. she's still hanging around, too.
o fear not, we are not petless. the week following, he brought this guy home. so we hit up craigslist and pieced together a nice little habitat for him at a much better price than the pet store was offering (please tell me you remember to check craigslist before buying new--it hasn't failed us yet).
rock-lemon (on the leaf) and a friend (from the toy box) to keep him company.

So fun!! The water play area is the best. That's all the kiddos wanted to do. If we go back, that's where you'll find us. Love the pets. We saw one of those little lizards on a walk and Spencer tried to catch it but it was just too quick, thankfully.
Looks like fun! We miss Craigslist :(
Cute little Asher taking his first steps!! I love it!!
Your garden looks great! I'm impressed.
Hey-Is that a square foot garden? I've been wanting to do one of those for awhile now. Now I just need a yard....
Aah! A garden! Love it!
And don't you love San Jose? Have you ever taken the boys to the Tech? They have this awesome billiard ball thing set up outside that we spend hours gazing at before we even venture inside. And it just gets better from there. Do you guys ever go to Christmas in the Park in San Jose? If not, we should go together this year. It's great.
oh yes stina tis a square foot garden. you say you need a yard? no way. the boxes are only 4 x 4 and you can make them smaller. that's what's so great about the sqft. method!! planting a garden has always just overwhelmed me because i knew nothing about it. but when i read about this on a friends blog (kellymccaleb.typepad.com) and i was encouraged. it's seriously SO easy. i actually did it and that says a lot! i checked the book out at the library first, started my garden and then bought the book.
Asher is so big and handsome - where does the time go?
glad you figured out the habitat for the tree frog!
